Pumpkin Thumpkin Seed
Thumpkin was bred by the breeder of Wolf pumpkin Chris Awald from North Collins, NY. Deep oblate shaped fruit with good ribbing are produced on vigorous full-size vines. The dark orange fruit have strongly rooted, thick, long stems that measure from 4 to 10″ in length. The fruit are thick-walled and weigh between 15 to 25 lbs. Like Wolf, this variety needs room to grow. Recommended spacing is 6′ between plants in the row and 12′ between rows. If ground is fertile, then the recommended in row spacing should be moved out to 8′ between plants. Plant this variety early and allow for good spacing or yields are severely affected.
